Enhance Your Nervous System with Principled Living Tonal Chiropractic

At Principled Living, we are on a mission to improve the stress response, health, and quality of life for as many families as possible with our research-proven and root cause Tonal Health Model.

What is Tonal Chiropractic?

Just as a massage therapist focuses on the tone of muscles, or a singer focuses on the tone of his/her voice, a tonal chiropractor focuses on balancing the tone/tension of the brain/spinal cord (aka central nervous system). Any imbalance in the tone/tension of the brain/spinal cord results in a condition called nerve interference and will immediately decrease the individual's stress response, health, and quality of life. We specialize in a new research-proven chiropractic technique that doesn't require 'cracking' and gets better results!

What Is Nerve Interference?

1

Your brain controls every part of your body through nerve communication pathways.

2

Stress from life causes these nerve pathways to misfire and COMPROMISES your ability to heal, sleep, and enjoy life and, eventually, causes disease. Nerve interference can be the root cause of any disease, even mood disorders and addictions.

3

Most of the time, this dysfunction is not felt by symptoms. (ONLY 3-5% of your nerve pathways are for pain signals!)

How Does Tonal Chiropractic Work?

Using state-of-the-art and non-invasive scans, we can diagnose nerve interference and recommend options to correct it. Then Dr. Rinehart uses a gentle vibration from an FDA-approved instrument to remove nerve interference and help maximize your quality of LIFE!

Traditional Chiropractic vs Tonal Chiropractic

Most traditional chiropractors will base their assessment on the alignment of spinal bones, restriction of joints, or tightness of muscles. In contrast, a tonal chiropractor focuses on and assesses the tone of the brain and spinal cord.

The limitation of traditional chiropractic assessments is that they assess systems of the body (bones, joints, muscles) that are secondary or under the control of the CNS.

When Dr. Rinehart assesses the function of your brain/spinal cord (CNS), he can get a very clear diagnosis of where the root causes of your problems are.

The Central Nervous System

The Central Nervous System (CNS) is defined as the brain + spinal cord, and its job is to coordinate and control EVERY cell, tissue, and organ of the human body. For you and your family to have an appropriate stress response, be healthy, and have a high quality of life, each of your brains must be able to communicate with EVERY part of your body!

Research also tells us that the brain + spinal cord are piezoelectric substances, which means that pressure (piezo) and tension change the way electric communication signals flow through your nerves! In fact, it only takes the weight of a dime to alter these electrical signals and cause miscommunication! In our office, we call this nerve interference or subluxation.

Do You Need a Tune-Up?

Have you ever 'lost your voice'? When this happens, a small amount of inflammation on the vocal cords changes their tone/tension and prevents them from vibrating normally. So essentially, they are 'out of tune,' and that's why your voice sounds different, or you have no voice at all!

Your brain + spinal cord work in a very similar way! Even the smallest amount of stress/tension/inflammation/torque will change the tone of your spinal cord and prevent your brain and body from communicating accurately.

Chiropractic Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why Get Checked In? I Feel Fine...

That’s great, but it is still extremely important to have us check for types of nerve interference that do not cause symptoms but eventually cause disease.

  • Why should I see a chiropractor?

There are many reasons to see a chiropractor. Here are some common reasons: Brain Health: Your spine (back bones) surround your spinal cord which is an extension of your brain. If you spine is out of alignment or is degenerating, it can put pressure on your spinal cord and cause all sorts of brain dysfunction. Back pain: Chiropractors are trained to treat back pain, which is one of the most common reasons people seek chiropractic care. Neck pain: Chiropractic care can also be effective in treating neck pain, which can be caused by poor posture, injury, or degenerative conditions. Headaches: Chiropractic adjustments may help reduce the frequency and severity of tension headaches and migraines. Joint pain: Chiropractors can help alleviate joint pain in various areas of the body, including the hips, knees, shoulders, and wrists. Sports injuries: Chiropractic care can be useful in treating sports-related injuries, including strains, sprains, and repetitive motion injuries.

  • What types of chiropractic are there?

Segmental, Postural, and Neuro-Tonal (our approach). Segmental / Diversified: Assessing and correcting individual asymmetries in muscles and spine bones (vertebra). This is the most common form and is often symptom based and requires cracking / manipulating the spine. Postural: X-rays and postural analysis are used to see the large curves in the spine and spinal manipulations, along with corrective exercises, are used to push / pull the spine into better alignment. Tonal (Neuro-Tonal): Our Torque Release Technique is the best researched approach to chiropractic and falls under the tonal model of chiropractic. Dr. Rinehart uses spinal cord reflexes (similar to a neurologist) to diagnose areas of the spinal cord / brain that are not functioning correctly. Then with a gentle vibration from a 410k FDA approved instrument (The Integrator), these spinal cord reflexes are corrected. The best part? Your brain learns how to better align your spine and KEEP it aligned in the process!

  • Can chiropractic treatment be used in combination with other forms of medical treatment?

Yes, chiropractic care can be used in combination with medical treatment, including physical therapy, massage therapy, and medication. Chiropractic care has actually been shown to improve the outcomes of other interventions!

  • What is the difference between chiropractic treatment and traditional medicine?

Chiropractic focuses on diagnosing and helping the body correct an often misunderstood condition called subluxation. Subluxation is when the brain has been overwhelmed by emotional, chemical, and/or physical stresses. This happens a lot in life but when subluxation is not corrected, dis-ease happens all over the body! Combine this with the fact that the brain runs the entire body, and one can only imagine how detrimental subluxation is to the stress response, health, and quality of life of the individual! Please get your family checked for subluxation ASAP. Traditional medicine focuses on the use of medication and other therapies to treat illness and disease, often from a symptomatic focus rather that a root-cause and neurological focus.

  • How often do I need to see a chiropractor?

The frequency of chiropractic care will vary depending on the individual needs of the patient and the severity of the condition. Some patients may only need to be seen a few times, while others may require ongoing treatment.

  • How long does a chiropractic treatment session take?

The length of a chiropractic appointment can vary depending on the individual needs of the patient but typically lasts between 5-10 minutes.

  • What conditions can chiropractic treatment help with?

Chiropractic care focuses on improving the communication between brain / body and the brain runs the ENTIRE body. We have seen great results in a variety of conditions including but NOT limited to: Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Addiction, Chronic Pain, Headaches, Migraines, Neck Pain, Chronic Infections, Sickness, Asthma, COPD, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Colic, TMJ, Vertigo, Shoulder Pain, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Back Pain, Children’s Injuries, Sports Related Injuries, Auto Accident Injuries, and Work Related Injuries!

  • Is chiropractic treatment safe?

Yes! Chiropractic care is considered safe when performed by a licensed and trained professional like Dr. Rinehart. The traditional chiropractic manipulation has been proven many times to not cause strokes, and we don't even need to do that! See our question about the types of chiropractic for more information about our Neuro-Tonal Model. Like any medical procedure, there are potential risks and side effects, but these are typically mild and rare.
